RIMC is a public school situated in Dehradun. It is a Category ‘A’ establishment of Ministry of Defence and is an Inter-Service institution. RIMC was founded by Prince of Wales Edward VIII in 1922. Over the years, the alumni of RIMC has produced many leaders, both military as well as Civil. The alumni of RIMC have held high positions in the Indian Armed Forces including great gallantry award winners like Som Nath Sharma, Gen. K.S. Thimayya and P.S. Bhagat. Besides this, many high dignitaries like the Governors, Ministers and Ambassadors have passed out from RIMC. The college aims to send the maximum number of boys to the NAVAC/NDA, hence it stresses on complete education and personality development of its students.
The RIMC provides education to boys from class VIII to class XII between the age group of 11 to 18 years. It holds All India exam for Class VIII twice every year. The last date for submission of an application for 2019 is March 31, 2018. The entrance exams for 2019 will take place on June 01, 2018 and June 02, 2018. The Interview will be held on October 04, 2018.

Qualification: The candidate should be either studying in class VII or should have passed class VII from any recognized institution/school at the time of admission, that is, January 01, 2019.
Age Limit: the candidate should not be less than 11 ½ years in age and should not have reached the age of 13 years as on January 01, 2019.

Note: the minimum pass mark in each paper is 50%.
The Interview will be held for only for those candidates who qualify the written exam. The minimum pass marks for the Interview is 50% and the time, date and venue for it will be intimated to them by their respective state by the first week of September 2018. The Interview will test the Personality and Intelligence of the candidates.
The fees at RIMC is greatly subsidized by the Central Government. Presently it is Rs. 62,400 per annum. It may rise from time to time. At the time of entry into the school a Security Deposit of Rs. 20,000 has to be made that is refundable when the students pass out.
