COURSE STRUCTURE

Daily Chinese – HSK consists of 300 hours of learning from Basic, Intermediate to Advanced, divided into 14 levels adapted from the latest HSK syllabus.

COURSE OUTLINE

BASIC LEVEL 1 AND BASIC LEVEL 2

• • Learn and master the Chinese Phonetics, thus understanding and getting familiarised with the Chinese pronunciation.
• • Understand and use simple Chinese words and phrases, meet basic needs for daily conversation.
• • Understand the structure of Chinese characters and recognise characters.
• • Demonstrate basic writing skills of strokes of characters and radicals.
• • Learn and understand the interesting Chinese culture and social interaction.
• • Learn and build vocabulary of 150 words most frequently used Chinese words and 45 language points to help in understanding different Chinese contexts better.

BASIC LEVEL 3 AND BASIC LEVEL 4

• • Able to use Chinese in a simple and direct manner, applying it in a basic fashion to their daily lives.
• • Understand the structure of Chinese characters and recognise characters.
• • Learn and understand the interesting Chinese culture and social interaction.
• • Obtain a cumulative vocabulary of 300 words and learn 45 language points to help in understanding different Chinese contexts better.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 1 AND INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 2

• • Able to use Chinese to serve the demands of their personal lives, studies and work, and are capable of completing most of the communicative tasks they experience during their Chinese tour.
• • Improve reading and writing skills through many common everyday themes.
• • Improve awareness of language use, in terms of accuracy, fluency and appropriateness.
• • Learn and understand the interesting Chinese culture and social interaction.
• • Obtain a cumulative vocabulary of 600 words and learn 45-50 language points to help in understanding different Chinese contexts better.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 3 TO INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 6

• • Able to discuss a relatively wide range of topics in Chinese and are capable of communicating fluently with native Chinese speakers.
• • Improve reading and writing skills through many common everyday themes.
• • Improve awareness of language use, in term.
• • Learn and understand the interesting Chinese culture and social interactions of accuracy, fluency and appropriateness.
• • Obtain a cumulative vocabulary of 1200 words and learn 100 language points to help in understanding different Chinese contexts better.

ADVANCED LEVEL 1 TO ADVANCED LEVEL 4

• • Able to read Chinese newspapers and magazines, watch Chinese films and are capable of writing and delivering a lengthy speech in Chinese.
• • Can easily understand any information communicated in Chinese and are capable of smoothly expressing themselves in written or oral form.
• • Learn and understand the interesting Chinese culture and social interaction.
• • Obtain a cumulative vocabulary of 1500-2000 words and learn 50 language points to help in understanding different Chinese contexts better.
