Airmen Entry
Opportunities are open for young men to choose Indian Air Force as a career. To join Indian Air Force in airman category, check out the eligibility criteria below.
GROUP -‘X’
Technical Trades (16 – 22 years)
The candidate should have qualified Intermediate / 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English as the subject of choice with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
OR
Three-year Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institution
(Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology) from a Govt. recognized Polytechnic/Institute.
GROUP -‘Y’
All Group ‘Y’ trades (16 – 20 years)
The candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2 or equivalent with a minimum aggregate score of 50% with pass marks in English.
Education Instructor Trade (20 – 25 years)
(i) Graduation with a Teaching Degree or Diploma from a recognized University with a minimum 50% aggregate marks
OR
(ii) B.A. (Hons)/B.Sc(Hons)/BCA with a minimum score of 50% marks.
OR
Air Force Classroom with Modern Smart Classes
20 to 28 years
(iii) A minimum second class M.A. in English/M.Sc in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or MCA.
Candidates who qualify both Written Test & PFT are interviewed by a team of officers of Warrant Ranks. Those who are selected for the interview will be medically examined by Recruitment Medical Team as per Indian Air Force Medical Standards. Only after which the candidate will be selected.
From Airmen to Commissioned Officer: Promotion Prospectus exist up to the rank of Master Warrant Officer (MWO). Opportunities to become a Commissioned Officer also exist for those airmen who qualify the prescribed examinations later during their service career.
